Since the end of 2011 elections Okemesi has been besieged by waves of housebreaking both in the night and in the day time. E.g. the houses of Bukola Oluwadiya, Pa Israel Ibuoye, Paul Olatoye, Prince Sola Fapounda and many others were burgled and riffled with infliction of injuries on a few occasions.
The worst happened on Sat. Jan.14, 2012 when 50yr Adeagbo Adediran aka Èkéderè was abducted on his farm at Oko Aro in Egbeja. He has not been found, alive or dead, to date.
Then, a couple of weeks back, the hoodlums started waylaying and snatching motorbikes, robbing passengers etc. Three of the robbers, including one Wale Jigan (the sobriquet Jigan totally identifies Wale among the folks in Okemesi Ekiti) were caught by the police on Okemesi-Itawure road. When interrogated they confessed that they got their munitions from Kayode Fasakin-Ajayi, member, Ekiti State House of Assembly representing Ekiti West Counstituency II, which includes Okemesi.
Fasakin was arrested on Friday last week and released on bail(?) last Sunday.
So far, so good. That is the precis of the situation: The much that I know meanwhile.
